Weekly Photo: Alpine Valley, Val d’Isère 2009
It’s about time I had another Mountain post. I was tempted to go for Whistler but with the Tour de France passing through Bourg St Maurice this week I opted for this view down the Isère valley from the Solaise chairlift in Val d’Isère. Today the Tour started from just a few miles down the road from here (and passed through here in 2007).
We were based in neighbouring Tignes but the view down the valley from here is better. You can clearly make out the dam (theBarrage de Tignes) and the lake it created.
Watching the Tour de France pass through Alpine valleys and cross mountain Cols has made me pine for December already…
