A short week in Dubai & Guest Posting

As well you know, after they got married Foe & Erin emigrated to Dubai to spend a couple of years working their socks off to earn lots of tax free Dirhams to set themselves up in life. They went in October and we’ve been threatening to go and see them ever since so with flights to Dubai fairly cheap we decided to book flights and go and see them. We’re not hanging around, we leave tomorrow morning for 5 nights. I’ll let you know how that works out!

Other news this week: Andy Hayes, creator of the excellent travelling website Sharing Experiences got in touch with me and asked if I wanted to do a guest post on his blog.

Andy’s website is all about inspiration and I decided to do a piece describing what I love about being in the mountains. Click here to go to Andy’s Sharing Experiences website and have a look around.

PS, this is my 100th Blog post and today is mine & Pezza’s second wedding anniversary! Yay!

    Hi Andy,
My husband (Bill) & I are Erin’s aunt & uncle. Bill is Erin’s grandma’s (Elsie) brother ~ but 16 yrs younger. Anyhow, we live in Bishop on the east side of the Sierra’s. Since I read where you love the mountains, have you ever been to the Eastern Sierra’s? There is back-country hiking, back-packing, pack trips, Mt. McKinley, Mountain climbing, etc., etc. Next time you are surfing the net (do they still use that term??) look us up!

    Hi Marilyn,

I’ve not been to the Sierras – the only American resort I’ve been to is Breckenridge, CO. I’ve just looked it up and it looks a great place to be – a short drive up to the peaks and not too far from the Californian coastline!

Oh, if the cool kids aren’t calling it ‘surfing the net’ these days then I’ve no hope!

  • Dubai is a great place to spend your vacation. It is also rated as one of the top most tourist spots in the world. The picturesque surroundings of beaches at one end and the eloquent deserts on the other are a delight to watch.

Moreover, Dubai is a place of creative innovation of real estate projects, especially the emirates office tower and the Burj Al Arab building. I have seen some images of these picturesque locations on your other post and they are awesome.
