Words that sound dirty but aren't

The last week has had its highs and lows.

Starting with the weekend we were all geared up for one of the greatest sporting weekends on record, all it was missing was a Ricky Hatton fight. Pezza and I decided against getting trashed on Friday, we had the Teages over in a wonderfully choreographed situation by Teage: he goes out and gets battered with work whilst the wife and child spend the evening at Andy and Pezza’s. It was a pleasant evening save for when I nearly murdered Zoe with pea – I have never heard anybody choke so much, I was close to Googling instructions on the Heimlich Manoeuvre at one point. “My name is Doctor Heimlich and I need a ‘manoeuvre’.”

So Saturday came and after some bacon sandwiches and baby vomit it was time for some sport. I don’t need to say just how much went wrong but to top it all off the one shining beacon at Geoghegan Towers would have been the Villa v United game however my Sky had a bit of Aids and I couldn’t get it. So what were we to do? X Factor to the rescue!!!

What a show it was: Dermot has shown already he is twice the presenter than that blonde bird and it was so good to see the wonderful Leona Lewis again however the absolute highlight was our new hero Rhydian Roberts and his stirling performance of Meat Loaf’s ‘I’d Do Anything for Love’. It wasn’t so much about the voice, rather the man – the way he caught that rose without looking was TV Gold. I’ve put the picture on, below, and also embedded the video – those who are interested watch closely on 3 Mins 23 Sec. Wonderful. Thank you Rhydian.

We were now warmed up for the Rugby. As Easty said, it’s a no-lose situation. We were happy to admit that we selfishly hopped on the rugby bandwagon and even more happy to hop off it as soon as the final whistle
was blown. It was now time to sing some Christmas songs and head out to be entertained by some transvestites at The Birdcage. This is where my memory is somewhat hazy.

Sunday – hangover, Lewis Hamilton & Domino’s Pizza. Textbook.

On Monday I got a late call up to HBG’s go karting event. It went well, Grand Prix style stuff but I had a bit of a bang and am currently gingerly sat here on a bruised coccyx. The result of which was no sleep last night and any chance of a lie in this morning was shattered by the good people building the new BBC site continuing their deep foundation piles, this is an act similar to normal digging and foundation laying only much, much louder. This has been going on every day (including weekends) for the last 6 weeks.

Anyway, I made the final of the karting but could only manage 8th place – always a pleasure though.

Until next time.
